this would be a great feature because everyone is using the web through there mobile phone. Not only that, it would be nice to update your status, via text message.
I believe that the suggestion has previously been made to have a mobile version of the zone.
Wrt being able to update your status by text, to be honest there would be little point as the only time people really take notice of your status is when they are sending you a private quicknote, it's not like facebook where people generally go trawling through user profiles to look at their statuses. so you might just as well log in to update it..
You can do it with about any pda with a web browser. Seriously; I've done it with my braille plus at least three times.
Agree with SugarBaby.
I used to log into the site with my Pac Mate, which is considered a mobile device. the only thing is that I couldn't hear the site sounds. Other than that, it was totally fine.
I could get on the zone with my old N75 if I really wanted to; it was a little slower than I would've liked but it worked. With my iPhone its a lot faster and I'm sure there are a lot of other mobile devices that work better than my old phone did.
it works fine with an iPhone
it does - I access mine from my IPhone all the time. The only thing I'd say that if you go into your account settings and set the user lists to show none then there are less links to scroll past when you're on a phone.
And having thought about it, most mobile apps are merely apps that have had the majority of graphics etc taken out so considering the zone doesn't have graphics there is little point spending time creating a specifically mobile app.
What is the need for a mobile version of the site when it's accessible from any cell/mobile phone with talks, I believe it should be with mobile speak, and as others have said with the iPhone. I've used a braille sense Plus, others access with either their braille note or packmate, which suggests everything is pretty well covered.
There is no graphics on here so I doubt there should be any reason why it can't be accessed with any portable device.
agreed with claire.
Well, any web browser that doesn't support php is not going to work. That includes--let me see--about nothing, unless you're using some kind of ancient machine. By the way, ocean dream, when I try with my pm omni, I have it time out on me. Were you using wifi?
agree with everything. :smile
Using my braille plus and docking station now. Working fine. Sending this now.
No. I was using just regular IE on the PM Omni. I didn't have any problems.
I mean, were you connected with a wireless connection? That's what I do, and mine gets really sluggish. One more reason pacmate's down, braille plus up!
please can some one give me some tips for getting on the zone with my i phone?
thanks peace sound warrior
i some times use my braille note. and labtop to acess the site smile.
